EBBC’s Core Offerings

As a team spanning 5 modalities relevant for the perinatal population, we bring our collective experience to EBBC’s CORE OFFERINGS: education and opportunity to connect around the most essential preparation for pregnant families: education for birth, lactation, newborn care, pelvic floor healing, mental health and relationship strengthening.

By enrolling in all 4 of EBBC’s Core Offerings classes you save 15% on your total registration fees. The dates for each individual offering are listed below along with further descriptions.

What’s included?

  • A 4-week series to cover topics spanning from physiology to coping in labor and birth. We have a series taught for birthing in any setting, and a series specific to out-of-hospital birth setting.

  • A 2-week series to prepare you for feeding and caring for your baby.

  • A 2-hour workshop to learn self care practices for your pelvic floor in pregnancy and healing postpartum.

  • A 4-hour workshop to build context and skills for the relationship changes common to becoming parents and learn about supporting mental health for birthing and non-birthing parents.

What: Our Childbirth Education Series is thoughtfully designed to foster meaningful connections—not only with your primary support person, but also with others in your community. Through an interactive, hands-on approach, we provide a comprehensive exploration of effective coping techniques for labor, alongside discussions on birth physiology, informed consent, and decision-making regarding potential interventions. With ample time for questions, this series equips you with the knowledge, strategies, and confidence to navigate the many choices available on your journey to birth.

What: This Childbirth Education series, taught by a midwife for families planning out-of-hospital births, is a wonderful way to learn everything you need to from childbirth education through the lens of community setting midwifery care. As someone who experienced both a homebirth transfer and a subsequent HBAC, Morgan joyfully brings her birthing experiences and years of midwifery practice to this class.

For Who: Pregnant families planning to birth at home or at a birth center

What: This 2 session series helps prepare you for life after your baby arrives - from the first minutes through the first 6 months. With one day dedicated to learning the ins and outs of lactation, including increasing supply, pumping and bottles, and a second day dedicated to newborn care topics, you’ll be ready to take on the early days with ease.

For Who: Soon to be parents or caregivers who are planning to breast/chestfeed. Registration includes two parents/caregivers.

What: A physical therapist-facilitated class to help lead you in understanding your pelvis and pelvic floor during pregnancy and postpartum as well as answer all of your questions around healing and caring for your womb and pelvic floor at any stage. This class will be part anatomy lesson, infused with movement and grounded in self-care routines that you can easily do at home.

For who: Anyone with a womb from preconception through postpartum is welcome. This will be especially supportive for pregnant people preparing for birth and subsequent healing.

What: This is an experiential and participatory workshop for expecting and new parents who want a roadmap for how to navigate the transition from partners to parents. We provide an understanding of how this massive transition will impact you as individuals and in your relationship, as a couple. We offer practical tools to support you both through this time. Please come ready to communicate and collaborate with your partner, in experiential activities.

Topics include: pregnancy & birth, postpartum prep, the transition to parenthood, bringing baby home, mental health, roles & responsibilities, communication, boundaries, sex, body image etc.

For Who: expecting or new parents, early pregnant through the first year postpartum

Other Classes and Guest Offerings

Here you’ll find other classes and amazing opportunities brought to EBBC by guest facilitators and practitioners. Offerings could cover topics such as childbirth, postpartum healing, birth processing, new sibling support, baby sleep, infant motor development and play, & more!!

What: This gentle movement-based workshop aims to support new mamas/ caregivers to embrace and (gracefully) manage the dynamic postpartum period from the inside out. Integrating guided somatic exercises with practical and postural skill building, we will cultivate supple strength, creativity, and embodied confidence to release stress and restore wellbeing. Offerings draw from the following somatic practices: contemplative and developmental movement (Feldenkrais, Body-Mind Centering), Pilates, Qigong, breathwork, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. Participants will leave the workshop with a series of accessible movement practices they can integrate into new parent routines. More information HERE.

What: This 2-part series is a wonderful opportunity to connect with other families welcoming in little siblings and engage the soon-to-be big siblings in play around new baby’s birth and addition to the family. We will be interacting as a whole family, asking everyone to engage with us in playing, singing, dancing, projects, and story-telling.

For Who: Families welcoming in a little sibling! Two caregivers and one sibling included in this offering. Please reach out to us if you have more than one kiddo who you’d like to include in class. Best age range for big siblings is 2.5-4.5, though any kiddo ready to play and engage in a warm and accepting group is welcome.

What: This classes helps parents and caregivers to identify what stage of development their babies are in, and support them in exploring the next stage. We go over the developmental phase, as well as when, and how, to facilitate next steps. It’s so fun to watch and attune to them as they play with weight shift and gain competence in moving their bodies independently.

What: This interactive class is designed to help you navigate the challenges of sleep with your toddler. You’ll gain practical strategies for handling night wakings, creating smoother bedtime routines, and establishing consistent sleep schedules. We’ll also cover essential transitions, including moving from a crib to a bed, dropping a nap, and adjusting to life without bed sharing (if that aligns with your family’s goals). Through an engaging talk and Q&A, you'll have the opportunity to ask your specific sleep and parenting questions. You’ll leave feeling confident with a personalized approach to support your toddler's sleep needs.

For Who: Parents and caregivers of toddlers age 1-4

By Who: This class is taught by sleep and parenting consultant and certified postpartum doula, Katie Sullivan, MEd.

When: Saturday, April 26th from 1-3p

What: This practical class is designed to help you understand and support your baby's sleep needs during the first year. You’ll learn essential strategies for preparing a nurturing sleep space, resolving day/night confusion, establishing effective routines, adapting to evolving schedules, and navigating common challenges like the 4-month sleep regression and other tricky transitions. Through an engaging talk and interactive Q&A session, you’ll leave feeling confident and equipped to support your baby’s sleep in a way that works best for your family.

For Who: Parents and caregivers with babies aged 0–12 months, or those expecting a little one soon.

What: This Childbirth Education series is taught by two experienced Birthworkers and Educators, centering BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ birthing people. Class content will include understanding labor and birth, creating birth plans, learning advocacy skills in the birth space, practicing support techniques for the physical and emotional well being of the family, and using plant medicine for wellness.

For Who: Any pregnant person and one support person.
